You can’t make this up…

Full disclosure
– prefers powering into seas with stops to sailing
– hearing . Has hearing aids but doesn’t wear them at sea so can’t hear many / all or arable alarms. Engine. Auto pilot overpowered or disengaged
– agility. Limited. Needs hand rail it support to transition from sitting to standing. Frequently used items like Bimini frame, sink counter extension

Woke / crew
+ lovely person. Helpful. Prefers sailing to powering.
– failed Richard test. Tried to step up 2 feet from dock and over the life line I’m going me move rather tha step on boat outside life line and the hen step over. Required coaching.
– no offshore experience. Never more than one overnight on a boat. No docking line handling, mooring procedure
– some Wed race crew in Chesapeake
– billed at experienced crew rate $100 / day plus expenses

Klutz
– knocked against autopilot controls and disengaged. Failed to notice alarm or course change. Said control was poorly located
– took fuel pump from Mike. Knocked of electrical connection. Failed to notice.

General professionalism
– no observed routine system checks, questions about setting s or readings
– retired to bunk and slept when not on watch. No effort to do more than basic crew responsibility. Some owners like to be in charge
No discussion about roles and division of labor
– no leadership demonstrated

Sailing
– no observed sail trim other am rolling up jib when it got light
– reefing main when wind came up dropped main rather than ease down to reef point. Recoverable but could have been problematic in those conditions.

– luggage. 2 massive heavy bags. One place next to table in passage by galley
Never opened. Apparently contained large selection of DVDs for viewing in large screen TV

Weather. Constantly staring at phone giving hour by hour forecasts out 72 hours mostly
In accurate and not useful for planning

Told all that Safety is important then clipped wife’s safety harness to Bimini frame not rated for load bearing rather than to hard point or Jack line provided rated for 400+ pounds

Situational awareness. Docking in front of cigarette boat. Plenty of room on dock. Touched dock to let bow handler off expecting to walk line forward
Nope made fast. Fir drill at stern ad boat guys an Mike trying to prevent damage. Finally after several repeated request to move forward finally realized the that there was a problem and action was required.

Water management. Know others concerved water at all times. Not observed but big decline in water after one shower.

However the weather and winds were reasonable so the passage was ok. Would not have considered make no the trip without 4 people/ 2 guys.
