lat long at 0500 utc – new year jan 1 2020
Well that was different. Mike and Rob were off watch. Mike didn’t want to get up to celebrate. Rob said he would get himself up but didn’t. So Nancy and Valerie watched the time on the VHF radio display. We think we are in UTC -5. That’s what we used. When the clock struck 5:00 we took a picture of the display with the latitude and longitude. Gave each other a hug and wished everyone a Happy New Year wherever and whenever they were.
The sky was filled with stars. We had trouble finding the dozen or so we know in with the thousand of bright stars everywhere. No moon. It set hours earlier. There was a haze at the horizon so it wasn’t as distinct as it had been the previous night.
