Our new boat neighbors Larry and Sherry just launched their Caliber 40 for the season. Their boat was out of the water here during hurricane Irma in 2017 Reprieve sustained major damage to everything on deck. Life lines, mast rigging. About $100,000 in total.
Larry spent several months working and overseeing repairs that winter. The replacement mast was one hold-up.
They are readying the boat for several months of cruising. Bimini and dodger are on. Rigger was here yesterday adjusting and tightening. All the metal has been polished – Africa was here working all day on that. They are stowing their gear. Looks like a boat ready to go cruising.
