What’s SUP

Even though it was still gusty we hauled out the paddleboard and inflated it. Too rough and windy to just go from the boat. Towed it over to Foxy’s dock and tried there. Somewhat sheltered from the wind. Less wave action. Standing was pretty shaky. However paddling around kneeling was fine for half an hour or so. Even then a gust got under the board and flipped it. Sandy bottom. Shallow water. Easy to stand up, right the board and get back on.

Taxi to White Bay. Soggy Dollar was doing a land office business. Hindos next door has nicer deck and bar. Don’t serve dinner most evenings including Monday. We had crevice of the day. Queen snapper. Brandon the bartender had been along when the fisherman caught it in 1500 ft of water.

Weather isn’t getting any better. More heavy rain and gusty winds. Now white out. Can’t see Tortola from here. Rain is horizontal in the downpours. Bad enough that the square rigger has come inside the reef at the entrance to Great Harbour and in the lee of the cruise ship.

Meeting up with Whitey and Max in Nanny Cay Saturday.
