- Christmas cakes – FedEx will ship your Christmas Cakes so long as they are in a tin.
- Blue Dawn – deals with greasy dishes even when there is no hot water because the engine that heats the water is out of commission
Good news – got the FedEx package that was “overnight” for delivery Thursday by 6pm. Actual pickup at the airport after a phone call to customer support, emailing requested invoice and cruising permit, two visits to the FedEx office in town, producing the cruising permit again, and physically going to the bonded warehouse at the airport, waiting in Perry’s office while he attempted to finalize the paperwork transaction with Bahamian government system and was finally able to produce adequate documentation for Customs to release the package with 2 Volvo accessory belts (value approx $50), at 4pm Monday. Then we had a 40 minute drive to get the 4 hour car rental back in time.
Yes, they were the needed belts that didn’t arrive in Florida prior to our departure – FedEx promised for 4pm on Dec 4 but hadn’t arrived when Mike left Melbourne Diesel. No, installing the replacement was not something an amateur can do. This requires a professional. The helpfulness and generosity of the local businesses has been remarkable.
Now the weather is a serious issue. We are “on the list” for a mooring at Warderick Wells for Wed night ahead of the next norther. Another is expected over the weekend.
Weather is not looking good for most of the week. There are two big Northers coming through with high winds and rough seas.
